Manuela Benini, Trans-Form Director Manuela is a dance artist and producer working with outdoor arts projects, performances and carnivals in the UK, India and Brazil. She is the Co-Founder of Selva, a performance group that uses elements from Latin american folk traditions and dances, and Director of Creative Dance Collaborations. She has worked in the community arts sector for over 15 years in a variety of settings, including primary and secondary schools, community centres, SEN and early years settings, as well as youth clubs and detention Units. In the UK, Manuela has established herself as a leading artist in performance and carnival arts and has collaborated with creative organisations such as Emergency Exit Arts, Mandinga Arts, Akademi, Walk the Plank, Festive Road and Cardboard Citizens to name a few. Manuela has worked as a performer and facilitator in arts based projects in India since 2010, and delivered the first Trans-Form project in Ahmedabad in 2014 with support from Arts Council England. |
Trans-Form Project engages UK and Indian volunteers, from a variety of backgrounds, art forms and professions, that come together to develop a trans-formative project for children and young people with varying abilities and educational resources in Ahmedabad, India.
