Trans-Form is still recruiting volunteer artists to take part in the 2016 project, taking place in Ahmedabad, India, 11th - 25th January 2016. Fancy getting involved?

Artists who take part in the project are given the unique opportunity to challenge themselves to create work with limited access to equipment and materials, to move out of their comfort zone and create new and innovative work, to collaborate with other talented UK artists from a variety of disciplines, and to explore India, it's peoples and it's culture in the most direct and all encompassing way possible!

'Being Part of Trans-form 2014 was a unique experience for me as an artist; both on an artistic level and a human level. Working with the children, sometimes in challenging conditions, without a shared spoken language, pushed me to discover new aspects of myself and my work. I was left completely inspired by their joy, laughter, colours and humanity. I carry that with me daily.'

PROJECT SCHEDULE:

PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
  • Artists will be asked to deliver  4 to 6 sessions a week, working with the same groups of kids in different areas, so each artist will be  a leader for each school/community group
  • Artists are encouraged  to work in partners or trios with large groups of kids or as  necessary
  • The delivery will be with support from the teachers and extra local volunteers who speak the local language whenever possible.
  • Artists will live in a shared apartment in Ahmedabad, with all other project artists, for a supportive and immersive experience.
